​Formerly known as ‘The Bunnies of Your Nightmare’, featuring a slightly different line-up, We Are Superheroes came together in February 2012 when Sam (Vocals/Rythm Guitar) and Jamie (Lead Guitar) were looking for a band to perform at a school concert. Recruiting Zac (Bass), they have since played along side bands such as Fearless Vampire Killers (when called ‘The Bunnies of Your Nightmare’), Eso (formerly Esoterica), Orestea, As It Is, Nightlife and Miss Vincent at the 02 Academy 2 Islington, City of Ashes, Leagues, Ashes To Angels, to name but a few, also playing at Guilfest in summer, 2012.

 

Playing mainly original songs, with occasional covers, the band mixes the ambience of soft rock and the punch of pop punk that reflects a wide interest in music genres. A review from their Islington show thought it was ‘well-thought-out and captivating alternative rock…the sound, the melodies, the rhythm, they’re all there. The song, The Answer definitely has what it takes to be a hit, with a chorus that will get stuck in your head and a great guitar solo. There’s still some growing to do but the future is bright for this quartet from Surrey.’ The band has just finished and released its first EP 'Sunlight Through The Silhouettes', a collection of six acoustic versions of original material.

 

In late 2014 the band started to record their second self titled EP and recruited Ana Larby as their new drummer to create the current line up, setting the band up for a great 2015!
